I'm still shaking a bit writing this but last week my 2016 Camaro SS started smelling like burning plastic after a hard pull on the way home from work, and when I popped the hood I saw some smoke coming from near the alternator. I panicked and took it to the first garage I saw in Industrial Area 2 who claimed it was just an oil leak dripping on the exhaust and wanted to charge me 3000 for a full gasket set. Something felt off so I got a second opinion from the Professional Camaro Repair Sharjah and they found the real problem within twenty minutes – a faulty AC compressor clutch that was overheating and about to seize up, which could have snapped the belt and left me stranded or worse. They replaced the compressor clutch assembly and flushed the system for less than half what the first place quoted for completely unrelated work. I honestly can't believe how close I came to getting ripped off or having my car catch fire on the highway. If you own a fifth or sixth gen Camaro in Sharjah, please don't trust just anyone with that LT1 engine, these cars have enough electrical gremlins without adding clueless mechanics to the mix. Anyone else had a close call with a bad shop?
